Round Seven - King - Girl Genius

The King family seem pretty normal, if expanding too rapidly for their tiny house. Liliana's hitting those difficult teen years, though, and Miranda's grief at her sort-of-boyfriend heading off to university might lead her to do something drastic...

Note: Apologies if the formatting is wonky again. I lost two pictures of teen Liliana, including one of her being adorable and looking after baby Athena autonomously, and they're not on my computer anymore! Fail. Eventually I had to admit defeat out of fear of losing the whole post.

Petal was so happy with her little bundle of joy she felt like she might burst. Sure, there wasn't much room for a baby what with her teenage sister-in-laws being around, but she and Nathaniel were considering trying for another one anyway. Babies were small, right? Surely they couldn't take up too much room...


Besides, the house wouldn't be this crowded for long. Miranda had nearly given her mother a heart attack when she announced she'd be going to university early. She claimed it was because her exceedingly high grades and multitude of honours classes and extra-curricular activities meant she could start the next step in her life NOW rather than waiting and stagnating, but Noriko knew the look in her daughter's eyes.

"You're following that Darwin boy, aren't you? Look at his brother! Don't be so irresponsible!

Miranda gave her mother a rather condescending look, as if the mother-daughter relationship was reversed in this case. "You know full well that Sam isn't like that. And it's not about him anyway. There'll be plenty of other boys at university, anyway." Truth be told, she knew she wouldn't be looking at anyone but Sam, but she wasn't going to admit it.


So Miranda went to Sim State University a few years early. The world was her oyster!



Liliana was a lot happier about the situation than her mother. She was a teen now and wanted her own room so she and her friends could hang out, and Miranda not being around meant she didn't have to share anymore! She turned the previously baby-pink and flower-infested room into a purple paradise, fit for a budding It Girl.


They'd need extra room anyway - it hadn't taken much trying for Petal to get pregnant again and the morning sickness this time was even worse!



Apparently it was Adrian's turn to nearly bust an artery because of his kids.

"Another one?! You're not the man of this house yet, Nathaniel, and I'm not made of money! How can you be so irresposible?"

Nathaniel was taken aback - he thought his parents would be pleased that they were about to have another grandchild, but although Noriko was over the moon as predicted Adrian refused to talk to him for days and when he eventually did it was just angry muttering.




Still, Nathaniel wasn't too dejected. His father had always been one for raging and getting angry over trifling things, as Uncle Duncan pointed out to him over the phone, and Athena was growing up so fast. She was an absolute beauty, although there was very little of Petal in her - she was all Nathaniel and her uncle Jace, somehow.




The newest addition to the King family was born soon after Athena's birthday, a little boy named David.




"You don't look much like your mommy either, do you?" said Nathaniel to his son. "You look just like your daddy, and your grandpa. Maybe that'll cheer him up..."


Note: Noooo! I lost two pictures of teen Liliana, including one of her being adorable and looking after baby Athena autonomously, despite her popularity-loving, free-spirited nature. Needless to say, she's pretty gorgeous. It's clear now that she got Adrian's facial structure and her mother's colouring. Adrian's freak-outs were purely autonomous, he won't stop attacking Nathaniel now!
