Round Eight - King - Getting Older

The bustling King family are nearly spilling out of the seams of their family home, and the chaos has left everyone oblivious to what Liliana has been up to!

Liliana's bad luck with Sam hadn't destroyed her, at least outwardly. She was her usual self and despite the whole trying-to-steal-her-sister's-boyfriend thing she wasn't as crazy for dating as some girls. In fact, it had made her even pickier.
"Hey! I'm totally not into you that way so can you stop following me home? I mean, not that I don't wanna be best friends with you and I can't blame you for thinking I'm cute, but I've got other stuff going on at the moment."

"Uh, okay..." said a very confused schoolmate.

Harvey had hit a pensionable age but he had no desire to retire, especially with so many mouths to feed. Petal and Nathaniel had very well-paying jobs and actually earned a lot more than he did but he refused to acknowledge the fact - how could two young people who spent so much time making out be doing better in the financial sphere than him?!
Athena had reached an important birthday, too. She'd started school and was doing well enough, although not spectacularly, but she seemed to have inherited her grandfather's mean streak at times. When Adrian tried to explain to her how important getting top grades was she gave him a taste of his own medicine, much to everyone else's amusement.

David had reached his toddler years and he was into everything. Nathaniel was still completely enamoured with him - he looked like a perfect mix of his parents. "Who's got his mommy's big nose?" he cooed, safe in the knowledge that Petal was out of the room working on plans for the construction company's latest project.

Liliana wasn't sure what she thought of babies. She guessed being an aunty was okay, and they were really adorable when they were sleeping, but she knew far too well that they didn't sleep all the time. She wasn't exactly in a rush to have any of her own, that was for sure!

Athena wasn't a complete misery. She had made a few friends at school, although it was weird when she bumped into Gabriel King in the playground - how could she have a sort-of-uncle who was younger than her?! It was nice to bring him home, though. Athena already really appreciated the importance of family.

Notes: Phew! Liliana's stopped rolling up wants for Sam. That's a relief. She's sticking to the normal "I want a cell phone! I want an mp3 player! I want 10 best friends!" malarky.
